Company Shark is a UK company data search platform operated by Kernow Digital Ltd (Company No. 14041056), registered in England & Wales. The platform provides access to publicly available company data sourced from Companies House, enabling users to search, filter, and export company information for business research and lead generation purposes.
To use the Service, you must register for an account by providing a valid username, email address, and password. After registering, you will be sent a verification link to the email address you supplied. Your account is created immediately but you will not be able to sign in until you have clicked the verification link — this confirms ownership of the email address and protects against fraudulent or automated sign-ups.
We reserve the right to refuse, revoke, or restrict registrations at our sole discretion, including (but not limited to) cases where we reasonably believe a registration is fraudulent, automated, duplicated, or intended to abuse the Service.
The Service offers four subscription tiers:
Full details of each tier's features and limits are available on our Pricing page.
Paid subscriptions (Pro, Business, and MAX) are billed on a monthly recurring basis. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring monthly cycle until you cancel.
Prices are quoted in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. You are responsible for ensuring your payment details remain current.
No refunds are provided. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your access will continue until the end of the current billing period. No pro-rata refunds will be issued for unused portions of a billing cycle.
A Free tier is available to trial the Service before upgrading. We recommend using the Free tier to evaluate whether the Service meets your needs before committing to a paid subscription.
Company data displayed on the platform is sourced from the Companies House public register via the official Companies House API. While we endeavour to present data accurately, we make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data. Companies House is the authoritative source of UK company information, and users should verify critical data directly with Companies House where necessary.

The unlimited search and export allowances on the MAX tier are governed by a Fair Use Policy designed to keep the Service reliable and affordable for everyone:
If you need genuine multi-user access, please contact us at [email protected] and we will arrange a suitable team plan.
We reserve the right to temporarily restrict, throttle, suspend, or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, breached the Fair Use Policy in Section 7, engaged in fraudulent activity, or otherwise misused the Service. Where practical we will contact you before taking permanent action; in cases of clear abuse, ongoing harm, or risk to the Service we may act without prior notice.
You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kernow Digital Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
The MAX+ subscription tier (£60/month) unlocks our enrichment feature: for up to 300 UK companies per job, we attempt to find a corporate phone number and a role-based email address (e.g. info@, contact@, sales@) via best-effort web scraping of the company’s own website and freely accessible search-engine indexes. The following clauses apply specifically to enrichment data and form part of the wider Terms of Service.
Enrichment is provided on a best-effort basis. We make no guarantee that contact details will be found for any specific company, or that the details we find are accurate, current, or complete. Typical find rates range from 30% to 70% depending heavily on how long the company has existed. Newly-incorporated companies often have no web presence yet and may return no enrichment data.
You acknowledge that submitting enrichment jobs containing very recently incorporated companies will frequently produce lower hit rates, and that this is not grounds for a refund.
MAX+ subscribers may submit up to 2 enrichment jobs per rolling 24 hours, with each job covering up to 300 companies. Unused capacity does not roll over.
Enrichment is a “straight to your inbox” service: results are emailed to the address on your account as an Excel (.xlsx) attachment at 09:00 UK time the day after submission (or the day after that, where the submission is received less than 9 hours before the next 09:00 batch). The attachment contains the full record we found for each company — company name, registered address, director(s), SIC code(s), company number, phone, and email — and the results also become viewable in your account at /enrich/[id] from the moment delivery occurs. You will not see results, and no email will be sent, before 09:00 UK on the scheduled delivery day. You are responsible for keeping the email address on your account current; we are not liable for non-delivery to an address you no longer monitor.
We deliberately filter enrichment results to corporate data only. For email, we accept role-based addresses (info@, contact@, sales@, etc.) and reject named-person locals (e.g. dave@ or dave.smith@). For phone, we accept the business’s published phone number as listed on the company’s own website — this may be a landline or a mobile, since many UK Ltds (particularly sole-director businesses, trades, and consultants) legitimately use a mobile as their canonical business line. We do not attempt to retrieve personal email addresses or personal mobile numbers belonging to individual officers, and where our scraper encounters obvious personal data it is rejected before storage.
Where enrichment data delivered to you constitutes personal data under UK GDPR, you act as the data controller for any subsequent processing (storage in your CRM, email outreach, telephone marketing, profiling, etc.). Kernow Digital Ltd’s role ends at delivery of the data to your account.
You agree to comply at all times with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) in your use of enrichment data, including (without limitation) provision of any required Article 14 information to data subjects, respecting opt-out / suppression requests, and ensuring you have a lawful basis for marketing communications.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kernow Digital Ltd against any claims, complaints, fines, or losses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from or relating to your downstream use of enrichment data.
MAX+ subscriptions are sold without right of refund. Specifically and without limitation, no refund will be issued:
A pre-checkout interstitial requires explicit acceptance of this no-refund position before MAX+ subscription is created.
Initiating a chargeback in respect of any MAX+ subscription charge is a material breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to (a) immediately terminate the account, (b) cancel any in-flight enrichment jobs without delivery, (c) refer the dispute and outstanding sums for debt recovery, and (d) decline future business with the chargeback initiator and any related entities.
Our enrichment crawler identifies itself as CompanySharkEnrich/1.0 and respects robots.txt disallow rules. We crawl only the subject company’s own website and obtain other signals from search-engine result snippets — we do not scrape third-party business directories. We may decline to enrich specific companies whose website returns errors, blocks crawlers, or otherwise indicates we are unwelcome.
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate enrichment service to any account we reasonably believe is being used for unsolicited bulk marketing, spam, fraud, or other activity prohibited by PECR or applicable law. We do not provide a list of disallowed activities — anything materially harmful to data subjects or to the reputation of the service is grounds for refusal.
If you cancel MAX+ mid-cycle, in-flight enrichment jobs submitted before cancellation will continue to completion. New submissions are blocked at the moment cancellation takes effect; your access to results pages is retained until the end of the paid period.
The MAX+ subscription tier includes “Trading Signals” — a per-company observational summary derived from public records held by Companies House. The following clauses apply specifically to Trading Signals and form part of the wider Terms of Service.
Trading Signals is a deterministic function of public Companies House records — company status, accounts and confirmation-statement filings, officer appointments, charges, and filing-history events. It produces three sub-scores (Trading likelihood, Volatility, Trustworthiness) and an aggregate score from 0–100. The same inputs always produce the same output; nothing in the score depends on private data, bureau data, or commentary about individuals.
Trading Signals is not a credit reference, not a credit score, not a credit rating, and not a recommendation to extend, withhold, or vary any form of credit, trade terms, insurance, or commercial arrangement. Kernow Digital Ltd does not act as a credit reference agency within the meaning of section 145(8) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, does not hold permission under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA) to carry on the regulated activity of providing credit references, and does not provide any financial, investment, credit-decision, or risk-assessment advice. Trading Signals is provided as a descriptive summary of public records only.
You agree that any commercial decision you make about a third party — including (without limitation) whether to trade with them, extend credit, accept payment terms, insure, contract, or refuse to contract — is solely your own decision. Trading Signals must not be used as the only or principal basis for any such decision. Where a regulated credit assessment is needed (for example, where a Consumer Credit Act-regulated agreement is being entered into), you must obtain that assessment from an FCA-authorised credit reference agency.
We aim for the score to accurately reflect what Companies House records show at the time we compute it. We do not warrant that:
Trading Signals can be re-computed at any time and may change as Companies House records change. Scores are cached for up to fourteen (14) days for performance reasons; you should not assume a score is fresh as of the moment you view it.
Trading Signals is offered only for UK-registered limited companies (and equivalents). It is not offered for sole traders, unincorporated partnerships, or individuals, and must not be used as a proxy for any assessment of an individual’s creditworthiness or character.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kernow Digital Ltd accepts no liability for any loss arising from your use of Trading Signals, including but not limited to bad-debt losses, lost commercial opportunities, regulatory action against you, or claims from third parties about whom a score was generated. No refunds are issued in respect of scores you found unhelpful, unsurprising, or out of step with your independent view.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kernow Digital Ltd against any claim, complaint, regulatory action, fine, or loss (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your reliance on Trading Signals as the basis for a decision affecting a third party, or from any reproduction or re-publication of Trading Signals data outside your own internal use.
