1. Service Description

Company Shark is a UK company data search platform operated by Kernow Digital Ltd (Company No. 14041056), registered in England & Wales. The platform provides access to publicly available company data sourced from Companies House, enabling users to search, filter, and export company information for business research and lead generation purposes.

2. Account Registration & Email Verification

To use the Service, you must register for an account by providing a valid username, email address, and password. After registering, you will be sent a verification link to the email address you supplied. Your account is created immediately but you will not be able to sign in until you have clicked the verification link — this confirms ownership of the email address and protects against fraudulent or automated sign-ups.

We reserve the right to refuse, revoke, or restrict registrations at our sole discretion, including (but not limited to) cases where we reasonably believe a registration is fraudulent, automated, duplicated, or intended to abuse the Service.

3. Subscription Tiers

The Service offers four subscription tiers:

  • Free — Limited searches per month, no data exports, basic company data only.
  • Pro — Increased search limits, CSV export, officer data access, 30-day search history.
  • Business — High-volume searches, all export formats (CSV, Excel, JSON, PDF), full officer data, SIC code filtering, unlimited search history.
  • MAX — Unlimited searches and unlimited exports across all formats, subject to the Fair Use Policy in Section 7. MAX is intended for a single user and may not be shared.

Full details of each tier's features and limits are available on our Pricing page.

4. Payment Terms

Paid subscriptions (Pro and Business) are billed on a monthly recurring basis. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring monthly cycle until you cancel.

Prices are quoted in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. You are responsible for ensuring your payment details remain current.

5. Refund Policy

No refunds are provided. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your access will continue until the end of the current billing period. No pro-rata refunds will be issued for unused portions of a billing cycle.

A Free tier is available to trial the Service before upgrading. We recommend using the Free tier to evaluate whether the Service meets your needs before committing to a paid subscription.

6. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Company data displayed on the platform is sourced from the Companies House public register via the official Companies House API. While we endeavour to present data accurately, we make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data. Companies House is the authoritative source of UK company information, and users should verify critical data directly with Companies House where necessary.

7. Acceptable Use & Fair Use Policy

You agree not to:

  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the platform.
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense raw data obtained from the Service.
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Share your account credentials with third parties or allow multiple individuals to use a single account.

Fair Use Policy

The unlimited search and export allowances on the MAX tier are governed by a Fair Use Policy designed to keep the Service reliable and affordable for everyone:

  • One user per account. A MAX account is for a single individual. Sharing your login between multiple people, teams or businesses is not permitted.
  • Human-pace usage. "Unlimited" reflects normal individual prospecting activity. Automated scraping, scripted high-volume querying, or any activity outside the normal product flow is not covered by the unlimited allowance and may be rate-limited or blocked.
  • Pattern-based monitoring. We continuously monitor usage patterns for indicators of abuse — including but not limited to concurrent sessions from materially different geographic locations, login frequency inconsistent with a single user, request rates inconsistent with human use, or sustained volumes far in excess of normal use.
  • Action we may take. If we observe usage that is materially out of pattern with normal individual use, or that we reasonably suspect indicates account sharing or other abuse, we may at our sole discretion: (a) contact you to discuss the activity; (b) temporarily restrict access, throttle, or pause your account while we investigate; (c) downgrade your tier; or (d) suspend or close your account. Where the breach is clear and material we may take action without prior notice.

If you need genuine multi-user access, please contact us at [email protected] and we will arrange a suitable team plan.

8. Account Termination & Temporary Restriction

We reserve the right to temporarily restrict, throttle, suspend, or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, breached the Fair Use Policy in Section 7, engaged in fraudulent activity, or otherwise misused the Service. Where practical we will contact you before taking permanent action; in cases of clear abuse, ongoing harm, or risk to the Service we may act without prior notice.

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kernow Digital Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
